Treats: Pain in Facet Joints

Procedure Description

The patient will lie on their stomach with their back exposed. The injection area will be cleaned and numbed before the procedure. Using a fluoroscope, the doctor will guide a thin needle to the problem area. From here, a small amount of long-acting anesthetic is injected into the facet joints to numb the medial branch nerves.
